Now, all you need now is to create a hole with a hole punch, about 1/8 of an inch. Do the same with both pieces.

Pass your pliers through the holes on either side of the split in the ring.

Instructions

Step 1

Soften a large amount of clay and use it as your base. The color is up to you!

Step 2

The next step; soften smaller quantities of clay in 4 or 5 different colors. Remember to match them with your initial color. Some good and fashionable color options are navy blue, pale blue, pale yellow, and soft pink.

Step 3

Use a rolling pin, and roll your primary color to about 5mm. Then, roll all the other complementary colors, and make them as thin as possible. Cut small pieces of each color, but try to keep them in a tidy geometrical shape.

Step 4

Place the smaller clay pieces of the complementary color on the top of your primary base. Don’t overdo it; the primary color must still be visible. 

Step 5

Then again, roll the surface with your rolling pin until it is smooth and soft. Remember that it shouldn’t be thinner than 3mm. 

Step 6

It’s time for the shape. Take your knife and cut your colorful clay in the form that you like. Make a hole with a toothpick on the top to attach the finding.

Step 7

Preheat the oven at 110°C. Place your clay pieces into the parchment paper and bake them for about 30 minutes.

Step 8

Step 1

Attach the leaf pieces together by using glue. Usually, four pieces make an excellent piece of earring, but you can increase the pieces if you want them thicker. 

Step 3

Go back to your leaf template and cut out your veneer wood this time. Again cut the first piece and then place the second on the top of it before you cut it to have the same size. (Experiment on the side of the veneer wood first, because it is a bit harder to cut it)

Step 5 

Attach the veneer wood leaf to the dried pieces. You don’t need to add glue because the veneer wood comes with an adhesive on the back.

Step 6

Attach your jump rings to the earring hook, and you are done.
